We are a family-owned vineyard located on the west side of Cayuga Lake, near Interlaken New York.
After growing and selling grapes to local wineries, we started selling our first wines in 2021.
We strive to make beautiful wine from our high-quality terroir while giving an educational and enjoyable experience.
Our first plantings were in 2015 and as of 2024 we have 21 acres consisting of Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Lemberger, Chardonnay, Saperavi, and Rkateseli. Our grapes are also sold to wineries across the Finger Lakes.
Pour One Out for Ovid
Ovid Fire Wine Event: Pour One Out for Ovid
As many of you know, on Tuesday, January 21st, a fire started in downtown Ovid that destroyed an entire block of the town, taking with it multiple businesses and displacing 20 people from the apartments above. At least 60 people have lost their businesses, jobs, and homes.
On Sunday, February 16th from 1-4pm, Knapp Winery will host wineries from across Cayuga and Seneca Lake to support those affected by the Ovid Fire. Noah will be there pouring some of our wines as part of the tastings there.
Join us for live music and light fare while over 15 wineries will be available to pour a selection of wines. One ticket will give you access to food, music, and tastings to 8 wineries of your choice. Separate tickets will also be sold for a wine pull to raise additional funds.
Entry tickets will be sold at the door for a suggested donation of $20. Tickets for the wine pull will be $15 each. Every wine pull ticket will give the opportunity to choose one bottle of wine blind. You can buy as many tickets as you like! Most wines will retail for more than $15, so this is a great opportunity to stock your cellars for a good cause!
All tickets will be sold the day of the event, but you can RSVP online using links on our website. We ask that you please bring cash, although credit will be available if needed. 100% of the ticket sales and wine pull sales will be donated to the Community Bank and disbursements will be handled by a committee of representatives from the Village of Ovid, the Town of Ovid, and The Ovid Federated Church.
We appreciate it if you can RSVP in advance so we can plan accordingly for the event.
We hope to see you there at the event, helping support those affected by the Ovid Fire.

About Airy Acres Vineyard
Airy Acres Vineyard has been a family farm since 1918. Once the site of the largest chicken farm in Seneca County and still the home of a working grass runway called Airy Acres Airport, our family repurposed the land as a vineyard in 2015. We now grow eight different varietals on 21 acres with room for development in the future. Our first vintages were Riesling and Cabernet Franc in 2020, and now we offer 13 different wines solely made from fruit from our 21-acre vineyard using Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, Rkatsiteli, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lemberger, and Saperavi.
At Airy Acres Vineyard, we pride ourselves on our dedication to producing high-quality wines. Our vineyard is a family-owned business, and every bottle we produce is a testament to our commitment to quality and our love for winemaking. Come visit us to enjoy our wines, explore our vineyard, and experience everything Airy Acres Vineyard has to offer.

Introducing Rkatsiteli
We’re thrilled to announce the release of our 2023 Rkatsiteli, a vibrant and refreshing white wine that showcases the unique characteristics of this ancient Georgian varietal. This inaugural vintage, expertly crafted with stainless steel fermentation, boasts lively acidity balanced by a touch of residual sugar (under 1% RS). The result is a wine bursting with tropical fruit and citrus flavors.
The 2023 vintage was also the first vintage as certified sustainable by the New York Wine and Grape Foundation. Being stewards of the land and promoting healthy Winegrowing practices is important for us.
Rkatsiteli, originating from the rugged Caucasus Mountains between Europe and Asia, has proven to be an excellent match for the Finger Lakes climate. As one of only three growers in the region, and with our 2.5-acre block second only to Dr. Frank’s in size, we’re proud to bring this rare and exciting wine to your glass.
Thank you for your support in 2023
Hello friends of Airy Acres Vineyard!
Thank you for 2023 and looking forward to 2024!
2023 was our first year with regular tasting room hours in our ‘interim tasting venue’ in and behind the vineyard barn. We want to say a big thank you to all who visited us, got on our mailing list, tried and even bought some wine. Or joined the wine club. We are very thankful you made the effort to find this ‘new kid on the block’!
We’re open today, Saturday Dec. 30, until 6PM, should you need any wine.
Starting in January the tasting room will be open only Saturday’s from 11-6pm. Scheduled tastings/pickups at other times can be set up here. And orders for shipment (or pickup) can be done here.
The reds from the 2022 harvest were recently bottled, and two are available for sale. The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, our first from the vines planted in 2016, and the 2022 Osprey, which is a slightly different mix than the 2021 vintage, with some Cabernet Sauvignon added to the Cabernet Franc and Lemberger.
As many of you know, construction is ongoing to renovate the 1840’s farmhouse into our new tasting room(s) and cased wine storage building. Right now it’s ‘just’ a big green insulated box with wires and pipes and drywall being installed inside. We plan to open sometime in May, when it will look something like the architect’s rendering. Stay tuned for updates.
Thanks,
Fred & Noah and the rest of our Bassette family vineyard team
